Title: Is I-495 officially marked in PA?
Post by: HighwayMaster on February 06, 2012, 04:58:31 PM
I know that the ramp from I-95 south to I-495 south in Marcus Hook starts in PA, but does PennDOT officially mark it or not?

Here's the link to a map:

ftp://ftp.dot.state.pa.us/public/pdf/BPR_pdf_files/Maps/Township/Delaware/23104.pdf (http://ftp://ftp.dot.state.pa.us/public/pdf/BPR_pdf_files/Maps/Township/Delaware/23104.pdf)

I-495 is the line (ramp) off of I-95 near the state line.

Actually, the southbound ramp starts in Lower Chichester Township, PA.

The only PennDOT signs pertaining to I-495 are the overhead approach signs; which STILL have the temporary 'City Wilmington' (from an old I-95 reconstruction project in Delaware) masks on most of the 495 Exit signs.

This thread (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=3851.0) also addressed this topic.  Conclusion from that discussion: ramp is in Pennsylvania, but not I-495.

Close enough.

I said that the ramp started in Marcus Hook, it's close enough to Lower Chichester.
