NDOT is planning to implement a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at the US 395/Moana Lane interchange in Reno, NV. This will be the first DDI in the state of Nevada. A public meeting was held last week to introduce the concept. This interchange reconstruction will follow the Regional Transportation Commission's widening of Moana Lane west from US 395 to Virginia Street, which should start this summer.
According to a linked video interview, NDOT is also looking at a DDI in southern Nevada, but they didn't say where...
UPDATE: According to this NDOT press release (http://www.nevadadot.com/News/Press_Releases/2012/Diverging_Diamond_Interchange_Moana_Ln-Reno.aspx), construction kicked off on Sept. 12th. The project will also include green bike lanes, which is another first for northern Nevada.
