Title: Last current US route to be paved
Post by: bugo on February 25, 2012, 03:02:44 PM
I'm not talking about US 183 in Nebraska, but the last road that was gravel that is now a US highway.  AR 4 in Howard County, AR was gravel until at least the '80s and is now US 278.

There are probably a number of recent realignments that incorporated formerly unpaved roads in part. I guess what you're looking for is where the main road in the local corridor was unpaved.
