CDOT officials have released plans to build a Diverging Diamond Interchange just west of Grand Junction.

This DDI, at the intersection of I-70 and BL-70/US-6/US-50 will be the First in Colorado and is said it will be the 7th DDI in the US if the timeline of completion stays true. No wonder the overhead signs for I-70 on US-6 & 50 were not included in the I-70 sign upgrade last year.
Fixed the subject line for you -Alex
There have been rumblings about putting in one at US 36 and McCaslin in Louisville, but it's a safe bet the Grand Junction one would happen first. That interchange has a high amount of traffic turning to and from the ramps so is a textbook place for a DDI.
At a meeting to discuss improvements to U.S. 50 between Pueblo West and Pueblo, CDOT also indicated they were considering an at-grade DDI, in this case called a diverging split intersection (DSI), for the intersection of U.S. 50 and Pueblo Blvd. (CO-45). This would be a stopgap to improve traffic flow until an interchange could be constructed at a future time. To understand how a DSI could work at this intersection, it is necessary to know that the two carriageways of U.S. 50 are far apart at this point, and also helps to look at the map. The northbound traffic of CO-45 would cross over south of the intersection with the U.S. 50 south carriageway, while the crossover for southbound traffic would be co-located with the north carriageway intersection.

The reason for the current layout of this intersection would be a thread by itself.
Colorado Springs is jumping on the DDI bandwagon, too.

The Fillmore and I-25 interchange is up for the conversion if the city lands a grant. The city is already planning on moving the Chestnut Street intersection about 1/4 mile west up the hill (a 9% grade, mind you) to allow for the change.
The local rag newspaper had a columnist editoralize report on this a few months back... http://sidestreets.freedomblogging.com/2012/02/24/warning-diverging-diamond-to-join-driver-vocabulary/16856/

Hey, I never said that it was good reporting, but it *was* a blurb about the OH GOD WHAT NEXT!?!?! reporting the Gazidiot is known to do.
As for shocked faces... yeah. I usually have this expression when I read anything road-related out of that paper: :verymad:
