I came down from Connecticut this past Saturday for a Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball game at Frawley Stadium. Naturally, my favorite part of the trip was of the Delaware Memorial Bridge on I-295/US Route 40. I hadn't been on this span in almost three years. Anyways...here goes!

Sigh! I remember the days when this toll plaza at the end of the New Jersey Turnpike would have a long ass backup. Went through it with no delay this time! The tiny mile marker on the left side reads MILE 2.6.

Good thing I was the passenger in this case, since there are a LOT of signs to look out for in this stretch! This was one of the last signs you see on the Pennsville, NJ side of the bridge.

Welcome to New Castle, DE! Nothing beats paying a $4 toll on a late spring weekend in New Castle County. Well...

In this case, we were eventually headed to I-95 North to get into Wilmington proper.

Now I don't remember these guide signs when I last through in July of 2009. Sorry for the blur, but I know the yellow strip reads "US Route 13 South" and "DE Route 1 South". When it comes to the Diamond State, I have yet to be in it south of the Amtrak and the I-95/I-295 corridor.

While I live fairly close to CONNECTICUT Route 9, I've yet to be on Delaware's version of it.

The skies would completely cloud over by the time I got back to Connecticut. Trust me. Anyways, the tiny marker in the bottom left reads "DRBA MILE 2.9", a.k.a. the Delaware River Bridge Authority.

At the Pennsville, NJ (east) end of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. In real time, it's tough to pick out the exact beginning of the New Jersey Turnpike.

Soon after this sign was the "Lighthouse" toll plaza in Carney's Point, NJ.
