Title: What cities was I flying over
Post by: Truvelo on June 26, 2012, 09:14:26 AM
I have just come back from somewhere in the States. I was able to film a couple of cities from the cabin window of an ERJ-145. I'll make this a quiz and you have to find out where they are. They were both taken from the same flight so if you find one it should make the other one easy. There's enough freeway visible in both videos to find the locations and north is at the top.

Make it night views of cities and it might be more sporting.

I flew from LA to Houston once during the day and we went right over Phoenix. I could almost spot all the spring training baseball complexes. Flying back on a red-eye, I could see what was certainly Denver to the north.

I flew over Dayton at night before on my way back from Boston to Indianapolis and west of there we flew over Muncie, where I went to school at back in the day. It was neat to be able to pick out the various parts of town just by looking at the commercial corridors, the downtown and the university. When I'm flying, I take road maps with me of the various states I'm flying over and track my progress in the air based on what communities and highways i think I'm following. Works only on clear days of course.

Just a hint...Next time make sure you don't name the cities in the youtube description on the top. ;)

The description was blank when I uploaded the videos. I changed it when the correct answer was given.
