Title: Russellville Bypass Completed
Post by: US71 on July 22, 2012, 07:00:32 PM
The SE bypass around Russellville, AR is now fully open. AR 247 begins at AR 7 at the south end of Russellville and swings around, ending at US 64 at Pottsville. The roadway continues north as AR 363, crossing I-40 before ending 1 mile east.

AR 247 is 5 lanes, 55 MPH, undivided its whole length. It is also heavily patrolled by Pottsville Police.

Exit signs along I-40 have been upgraded to include AR 247, instead of simply "Pottsville" (363 has never been posted on the exit signs and still isn't) Street View of old signage: http://goo.gl/maps/EppmJ

WB I-40 also has a supplementary sign Dardanelle Exit 88

What happened to the old 247 alignment? Is it now 247 Spur or did the state give it to the city?

I didn't check the north end at 64 (guess I should in case it became part of 331) , but where it crosses the new road, it's city/county owned.

I finally had a chance to check this out: old 247 is now city/county maintained, except for the section between US 64 and AR 331, which is now an extension of 331.
