Anyone know anything about the construction going on I-80 about 2 or 3 miles east of Route 47? I passed it around midnight tonight so I didn't get a good look at it but it looks like a new interchange is being built somewhere near Brisbin Rd. I can't seem to find any info on it other than IDOT saying the area is under construction from sep 2001 to dec 2012.
Reasons behind Brisbin interchange (http://heraldnews.suntimes.com/business/cain/12152036-452/reasons-behind-brisbin-interchange.html) (Herald-News)
It was on the Joliet meet tour back in May.

As said before, it is for Brisbin Road, and it has been in the works for years. Both Morris and Minooka have wanted an interchange between Ridge Road and IL-47 for quite some time to alleviate both interchanges.
Now, Plainfield and Romeoville want an interchange at either Airport (Lockport) Road or a full interchange at IL-126 on I-55. Romeoville is in favor of the former while Plainfield would prefer the latter.
From what I was hearing locally in Bolingbrook politics, the village also supports a full interchange at IL 126 instead of Airport Rd. Frankly, I would like to see IL 126 becoming full and Renwick Rd being a new interchange before Airport Rd. That way you also service the city of Lockport as well as Romeoville and Plainfield.
The other thing that needs to happen is a redo of the Weber Rd interchange. SB Weber to NB 55 in particular backs up horribly.
I was just on I-80 today and yesterday when I noticed the Brisbin exit. I've been on I-80 many times, and knew that "Brisbin Rd" looked unfamiliar. It apparently just opened on Friday.

This is the first time I've been on I-80 in almost a year, they have also installed new Clearview BGS.

Supposedly the Weber interchange is under a joint study between Will County and IDOT, with a diverging diamond a very strong candidate for the new configuration.

Revive, I am a bit surprised that in the Weber Rd interchange study that they are not thinking about just adding SB 55 to SB Weber loop and SB Weber to NB 55 loop. Those are the two movements the congest the interchange at this time. I know the later would require them to remove the Speedway but they could do it. I think out of the options they listed, I want the diverging diamond with free flow.
The interchange opened up recently, and here are some photos of it taken today:

And the destination on the ramp is this:

Why is there an EXIT ONLY panel on that sign?

Looks like the right lane exits only.

Because the right lane exits. The right lane here will be a future third lane when it is built. For now, it is an exit only lane. Same thing exists further east at the Ridge Road exit, Exit 122.
I don't recall ever seeings an EXIT ONLY tab on non-overhead signs.
Also, technically, shouldn't the "To US 6" all be in caps?
Here is one on EB I-80 at Ridge Rd...

That one makes more sense.
