Post by: bugo on August 02, 2012, 12:46:58 AM
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=council+grove,+ks&hl=en&ll=38.721925,-96.504724&spn=0.000992,0.002406&sll=35.309049,-98.716558&sspn=4.249125,9.854736&hnear=Council+Grove,+Morris,+Kansas&t=h&z=19

Does anyone know the history of this bridge?  Is it on an old alignment of K-177?

It was already bypassed by 1936: http://www.ksdot.org/burtransplan/maps/PastPublishedCounty/morris1936.PDF http://www.ksdot.org/burtransplan/maps/PastPublishedCounty/morris1953.PDF

Find its location and feed it into historic aerials.com, see how far back they have for it

Fucking weird.

Incidentally, http://www.historicmapworks.com/Map/US/61528/Township+15+South++Range+8+East++Kelso/Morris+County+1923/Kansas/ shows it before it was bypassed by the current highway.
