Atlantic Cities: This Highway Hunter Captures Interchanges From the Sky (http://www.theatlanticcities.com/arts-and-lifestyle/2012/08/flying-highway-hunter-captures-interchanges-sky/3004/)

QuoteHighway interchanges just look better from the sky.

Quote"When you're driving," says Toronto-based photographer Peter Andrew, "They're like a bunch of bridges. But from above, they look like spaghetti, or spiders."

These are lower quality, but I took some photos from a traffic copter ride-along near SF: http://www.flickr.com/photos/therealkurumi/sets/72157623533118915/

Erik Slotboom took many aerial photos for his Houston Freeways book. Any other aerial photographers in the group?

While not part of this group (or even highways in general) I do know of a couple skyscraper entheusists here in Ohio that have gone up in helicopters to photograph cities.

My friend has a plane, but there is a big chunk of DFW you're not allowed to fly over because of the giant airport in the middle - so you're generally relegated to hiring a helicopter or being pleased with the suburban highways.

Yeah, Washington, D.C. has that problem as well with National Airport (DCA) in the regional core.  And there's the prohibited airspace over the White House, the National Mall and the Naval Observatory (where the Vice President has his official residence).
