One of the triple multiplexes you named (US 1, US 9, and US 46 in Fort Lee, NJ) contributes to a quadruple multiplex to the middle of the George Washington Bridge with I-95.
In fact, once the bridge crosses into New York, US 46 terminates and it becomes a triple multiplex again: US 1, US 9, and I-95.

Interstate 165, U.S. 90, and U.S. 98 Truck (though U.S. 98 truck is barely acknowledged) in Mobile, AL.
Interstate 20-55 and U.S. 49 in Jackson, MS.
Alabama and Florida will have a lot more depending on whether or not you want to count all of the hidden overlaps...
Triple multiplexes are everywhere - I see nothing unique about this topic, unless you focus on the US Interstates - where there are only two, the Poplar Street Bridge in St. Louis, and the Wisconsin one.
Anything else is just normal situation.
NOTE: I'm not sure if multiplexes exist outside the US or Canada, help if you can :poke:
Missouri:
* US 50-61-67 around St. Louis from MO 267 to I-44
* I-64/US 40/US 61 from US 67 to Rte K in St. Charles County (or Lake St. Louis Blvd if you go by the mile markers)
* Business Loop 55/US 61/MO 34 in Jackson and Cape Girardeau
* BL 55/US 61-67 at Festus and Crystal City.
* BL 55/US 61-62 at New Madrid
* US 61-62/Business 60 at Sikeston
* US 60-62/MO 77 east of I-57 at Charleston
* MO 21/MO 49/MO 72 around Ironton
* Business Loop 44/US 63/MO 72 at Rolla - why MO 72 angles back east instead of following BL 44 to Exit 184 is beyond me, but I believe it will eventually head west to a new interchange west of Exit 184.
* US 60-160/MO 13 at Springfield
* MO 413/MO 248/MO 265 northwest of Branson
* I-29-35/US 71 in Kansas City
* I-70/US 40-71 in Kansas City (depending who does the signs)
* I-29/US 59-71 northeast of St. Joesph
Former
* US 40-50-60 somewhere around downtown St. Louis and the elevated section of I-70
* I-44/US 50-66
Iowa
* US 34-218/IA 27 at Mt. Pleasant
* I-380/US 218/IA 27 - I-80 to US 30
* US 30-151-218 at Cedar Rapids
* US 18-218/IA 27 from Charles City to Floyd
* US 30-59/IA 141 at Denison
* I-129/US 20-75 at Sioux City
I'm sure there are a few I've missed.
Master son brings up some good points, triple multiplexes are not that uncommon. Considering that Georgia signs the state highway counterparts, there are many instances of high-number multiplexes. Here is one that I know of off the top of my head:
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.southeastroads.com%2Fgeorgia001%2Fus-023_029_nb_us-078_278_ga-008_010_eb_begin.jpg&hash=dc38e09275d9f19c74e6792e33946dd411b21f13)
Another six-way cosigning (which is now five-way since U.S. 421 was relocated):
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.southeastroads.com%2Fnorth_carolina040%2Fi-040_eb_exit_221a_01.jpg&hash=20ef9c34d2ace87cbb80b1f7bf7e94e0b0984edc)
Referring to Alex's pic a continuation of the I-85 BUS/US 29/US 70 from High Point, NC with US 220 and I-40 added on
And another triplex(or dutriplex-between a duplex and a triplex):
I-95/US 460/US 460 Business East(US 460 Business West travels on Winfield Rd north of I-95)-Petersburg, VA
Re: Alex's photo of Ponce de Leon Avenue, Northeast Atlanta
I forgot about US 23 being in the mix, east of SR 42. Good pull.

QuoteTriple multiplexes are everywhere - I see nothing unique about this topic, unless you focus on the US Interstates - where there are only two, the Poplar Street Bridge in St. Louis, and the Wisconsin one.
It seems many responses overlooked the fact that the original poster was asking about
three of the same type of highway sharing pavement, i.e. three U.S. routes or three Interstates and no mixing of systems. That makes the topic a bit more unique, cause I agree that there are triple multiplexes in many locations.
In that vein, there is one such multiplex in Nevada. US 6/50/93 are concurrent from the southeast end of Ely about 26 miles to Major's Place in White Pine County.
In the future there will be an I-69-74-465 multiplex around Indianapolis. There might also be an I-24-66-69 multiplex east of Paducah, KY.
In Ithaca, NY there's NY 13/34/96 (map (http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=42.438819,-76.509862&spn=0.010895,0.027466&z=16), picture (http://www.gribblenation.net/nyroutes/images/photos/routes/013/013-02726s.jpg)). Because of one-way streets in the area, one block heading south/east has NY 89 too for a qudraplex!
In Pennsylvania, the only one I'm aware of is US 22/322/522 (http://www.m-plex.com/roads/pamplex/mp_us22_us322_us522.html).
This is in Philadelphia, Missisippi, right at the entrance/exit to the Wal-Mart parking lot.

In Fort Worth there is a I35W/US287/US377 through downtown, and soon to add to that is SH 121, and in the northeast suburbs of FW there is SH121/114/26.
I think the only signed triple multiplex in California now is Business I-80/US 50/Route 99 along the WX Freeway segment of the Capital City Freeway, between Interstate 5 and unsigned Route 51.
Many years ago though....
- Interstate 15 through Cajon Pass was also signed for US 66, US 91, and US 395.
- Interstate 10 was co-signed with US 70 and 99 from Los Angeles to Indio, and US 60 from Riverside to Indio (and from Pomona west).
- What is now Route 110 between US 101 and Interstate 5 (the Pasadena Freeway) in Los Angeles was once Route 11, US 66, US 6, and US 99.
QuoteIt seems many responses overlooked the fact that the original poster was asking about three of the same type of highway sharing pavement, i.e. three U.S. routes or three Interstates and no mixing of systems.
Three or more of the same type of route, but not necessarily without a different one tacked on.
For instance the US6/7/202 multiplex is also merged with I-84, but it only count as a triple, not a quadruple, since there's only three of the same type in there. That's what I was going for.
It's interesting, I did some poking around google maps before making my initial list. And I found that US highway triplexes were far more common than I had previously thought. Besides the two I already knew off the top of my head (6/7/202 and 1/9/46), I expected to find maybe a few more in Chicago or other major urban centers. The number of instances found in small middle of nowhere towns is pretty surprising.
if that's the case, there are still plenty of US route triplexes or greater
Now consider this mixmash: on the Indy beltway
southside - I-465, I-74, US 40, US 36, US 31, SR 37, SR 67 - But only I-465 and I-74 get respect on this route and I-465 is shown as the "primary" :rolleyes:
eastside (more like southeast portion) - I-465, US 31, US 36, US 40, US 52, US 421, SR 37, SR 67 - but only I-465 gets respect
NY 5/8/12 in Utica. I-790 also joins in to make it a four-way multiplex.
^^ I forgot about that one! I don't travel that way much, so I'm unfamiliar with the area.
US 80/280/431 - Phenix City, Alabama

There is US 64/67/167 between Beebe and Bald Knob, AR
^^ Those are weird town names!
The Newtown Bypass in Bucks County, PA, has a section where PA 413, PA 532 and PA 332 multiplex. Another case of moving numbered highways out of the town center.
FL 10 :biggrin:/12/267 in Quincy, FL.
If you consider it, FL 18/231/235 in Brooker. Signage on both sides indicate a triplex.
FL 717/80/15 in Belle Glade.
Look at this (from gribblenation):
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gribblenation.com%2Fpapics%2Foutofstate%2Fgatotempole-folkston.jpg&hash=f5af8b0fdb7509678f50069a84c807ad27855d20)
I think the above photo would be from Waycross, GA. Believe me, I have seen as bad or worse.
I live in GA and I always thought that displaying the underlying state highway number on US routes is redundant and adds needless clutter to sign asssemblies. And selfishly speaking, since I prepare signing and marking plans in this state, it adds more clutter to my drawings, hahaha.
GDOT is not even consistent on displying the state number all the time. They do it most of the time, but do omit it in many cases. Often on the same route they are inconsistent in where or if they display the underlying state route sheild.
In my opinion, Georgia may be the mirror image of California. It is one state that may have too many numbered routes and too many displayed route numbers, period.
That's a septuplenumbering. :D
The URL says Folkston, which is at the border with Florida.
I was at least in the right part of the state, hahaha. I never checked a map, Waycross was a guess.
Well that's two separate 3+ plexes at once...
That is way too much information to be signing on one highway. The US routes are one thing, but does there really need to be four GA highways on one stretch of road?
That sign is very cluttered, and I agree with RoadWarrior56, GDOT is inconsistent in signing state/US highways.
Be well,
Bryant
^^ When I say inconsistent, there are some instance where the US route is signed, but not the state route. And, sometimes, there are long distances before you'll see another route marker.
Be well,
Bryant
I vote with Bryant, they ARE inconsistent. And to make it worse, they are often inconsistent with the cardinal direction. US 29 is co-signed with SR 8 near where I live. US 29 is considered a N-S route, and SR 8 and E-W route. Sometimes SR 8 has a separate E or W cardinal direction, and sometimes it shares the N or S direction with US 29. And of couse that is when SR 8 is actually signed, which maybe 80% of the time.
Here's a video of a quadruple US route multiplex: US 23/29/78/278.

Almost forgot.....
US 27/301/441 from Belleview, FL to Ocala, FL.
FL 20/24/26 in Gainesville, FL
US 1/17/90/FL 228 (before the realignment) in Jacksonville.
And since others are counting cross-breed triplexes.....
US 98/US 319/FL 61 in Medart, FL (south of Crawfordville).
US 41/US 129/FL 6 in Jasper
FL 13/US 1/US 90 in Jacksonville
Today I was on OK 1/2/63.
QuoteInterstate:
- 39/90/94; Madison, WI to Portage, WI
- 55/64/70; St. Louis, MO/East St. Louis, IL
- I think those are the only two?
For a very short time, NC had an I-40/I-85/I-73 triplex, before I-40 was put back where it was.
There's two crossbreed triplexes in northern Louisiana that come to mind: the one in Jena consisting of US 84, LA 8 and LA 772, and the one in Winnfield consisting of US 84, US 167 and LA 34. As for state-only: LA 10/16/25 in Franklinton would be an easy one.
QuoteFor a very short time, NC had an I-40/I-85/I-73 triplex, before I-40 was put back where it was.
Same right of way, but it was pointed out, and I've driven it now, that Interstate 73 remains on c/d roadways independent of Interstate 85 on the brief stretch between BL-85 and U.S. 220. This also occurs where I-35W and I-94 and I-35E and I-94 come together. The share the same right of way, but both freeways remain on separate carriageways through their brief marriage.
US 62/65/412 near Harrison, AR
US 62/63/412 near Hardy
US 65/82/278 south of Lake Village
US 70/67/167 and I-30 at Little Rock
US 65/165/278 South of McGehee
US 59/71/371 N of Lockesburg
US 64/70/79 Memphis
How about a Quad:
US 61/64/70/79 at Memphis
US 59/70/71/371 east of DeQueen
QuoteI-94/I-35W correct. I-94/I-35E no. 94 and 35E share pavement...there are no separate carriageways in downtown St. Paul.
I thought you were the one that told me that neither actually overlap? :banghead:
That may have been what I was thinking, because I know that I referenced overlaps that are not technically overlapped back then. Someday I will get some guides created for Minneapolis/St. Paul.
