Post photos of your favorite signs that you've either bought, rescued, or stumbled upon (yes, I did stumble upon a Louisiana highway sign on a non-state road, 12 miles from the nearest state highway).
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffarm9.staticflickr.com%2F8349%2F8272430035_6686cd9100.jpg&hash=929f294b0c6659a3693d15b7a39c5a5ac15d0512)
Washington Parish 61 - from what I know, it's the last parish marker left in Washington Parish. A Louisiana highway forms the southern part of PR 61, so at the northern end of the route, you have old markers that are basically left untouched.
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffarm9.staticflickr.com%2F8500%2F8272429669_8c98840d1b.jpg&hash=0fd385ee795e4a638b9a857ec6d3d73fd87b1249)
LA 524 - my only wall-mountable green Louisiana shield. The ones I can mount are black and white, but that looks dull and boring! LA 524 marker is from 1999; green arrows are from the mid-sixties, based on the Louisiana shield mounted above.
My all time favorite shield that I own which will be in possession with me as long as I'm alive is my New Hampshire I-89 (http://farm2.staticflickr.com/1365/5098106318_81802406cd_b.jpg) shield. Some of the other ones that I also am favorable of are my Massachusetts I-95 (http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3484/5728310891_a1bbbf8143_b.jpg) shield, my US 666 (http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4120/5432011181_c35593deac_b.jpg) shield, and my New York Thruway (http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5293/5432649770_6d1d324834_b.jpg) shield.
I have only a few signs, but this is probably the most, um, memorable.

I'd have to say my US 101 cutout and old Speed Limit 35 are second and third.
I lack photos of a couple of my favorites. But I really have a lot to love around here.
My very own Bott's Dot, from Route 66 no less: (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.alpsroads.net%2Froads%2Fca%2Fold_66%2Fbottt.jpg&hash=ae76882365b69a2e78970a5ea2b1dfece308a1e5)

I don't have a photo of it, but my father has a moose crossing sign from Ontario that features a charging moose with its rack of antlers lowered. I've laid claim to the sign if he ever decides he no longer wants it or when the time comes to "inherit" it (hopefully THAT will not occur for a long time). We saw a lot of that style of sign in northern Ontario (up towards Cochrane and Timmins) on a family vacation in 1986 and my father liked the sign so much he ordered one from a store somewhere in the Toronto area. I do not recall the details.
We're having dinner at their house tomorrow night and I'll try to get a picture of the sign if I remember.
These are the first signs I ever bought:

He's also done a couple US shields for me.
The only real road sign that I own is a slightly bent, not-that-old one-way sign that me and my dad picked up from the ground after it fell of the pole sometime before. :P

I don't believe that this is Scotchlite. it appears to be made of a non-flexible heavy molded plastic instead. that probably dates it to the 30s or 40s, before Scotchlite became popular.
in other news, this is my favorite sign:

I love that it's on a post!
East CT Tpke. - the room
West CT Tpke. - that hallway :)
I have two that stand out: First is a US 59 embossed cutout from 1934:

Second is the only Arkansas I-49 sign known in existence. I had it custom made:

This assembly has the most personal meaning. Hwy 33 runs through the town I grew up in; went to East High School. 33 is the number for Heisman Trophy winning running back from Wisconsin, Ron Dayne. Hwy 33 is also the first project I worked on out of college.

I giggled, because I have the mind of a 12-year-old.
I'll see if I can post a picture of it and others in the near future, but my favorite has to be my 1948 NY 17 shield.
So the old Connecticut Turnpike was signed as EAST and WEST? Wow! That must have predated I-95. It definitely predates I-395 from Waterford to the MA border, since that portion of the Turnpike was CT Route 52 until the early 1980s.
I'm too lazy to look up dates at the moment, but regardless of which came first, there was a time at the beginning when not only was the turnpike signed east/west, but I-95 as well! Not only that, but I believe that to this day, there are rogue east/west banners on US 1 in the state.

Interesting point on the latter - When I started roading around 2001-2, the east/west signs in the eastern part of CT had yet to be replaced for the most part, while most of the ones in the western part were gone. Sometime in the middle of the decade, CT came through, and now there are almost no east/west signs east of New Haven. Curiously, though, the once-few east/west signs in the western part of the state back in 2001-2 are still around now in 2012-3, making them the large majority of what you'll be able to find.
Found these back in 2010 in Bridgeport, CT i think...
