Title: The End of I-71's Linndale Speed Trap???
Post by: thenetwork on December 14, 2012, 03:02:44 PM
One of Cleveland's most notorius speed traps may have to go out of business:

For those who are unaware of Linndale, I-71 runs through a corner of this little village for about 1/4 mile.  There is no interchange within the village proper, yet the town has it's police regularly sitting and catching speeders on it's stretch of I-71 for the main purpose of generating revenue, rather than catching speeders on their 25 MPH surface streets.

(IMHO, that useless little blip on the map should be annexed into Cleveland - and nobody would miss it.)

I dare anyone who says that speed enforcement has anything to do with safety to watch this stretch of I-71 over the next couple years.

Funny thing about the cops there is that if you pass them in the opposite direction, there is no way they can catch you as they need to travel at least 1-1/2 miles before they can reverse direction at either an interchange or at a median U-turn access point.

When I used to live there, I'd blow my horn every time I passed them in the opposite direction.   :bigass:
