Title: Fully-clinched CHM city/town-level maps
Post by: Jim on January 18, 2013, 10:42:52 PM
I hit a milestone in my clinched highway mapping progress today when I clinched New York 158.  It means my "City/town map" centered on Amsterdam, NY, now has only fully clinched highways for me:

http://cmap.m-plex.com/maps/centermap.php?u=terescoj&sys=all&c=usa&rg=NY&mv=144550 (http://cmap.m-plex.com/maps/centermap.php?u=terescoj&sys=all&c=usa&rg=NY&mv=144550)

This might not be an unusual accomplishment for the most dedicated highway clinchers, but I think this is pretty rare for me.  Art least in a region that has state/provincial highways clinchable in CHM.  The others I have that I can find easily are in places where just one or a few clinchable routes show up on these maps (like Healy, AK; Hana, HI; and similar places).

Just curious how many others have clinched full maps in reasonably dense areas at this point (and have noticed it).

Portland!

Of course, once WA 501, 502 and 503 get added in, I'll lose this claim.
But, I do have OR 99W within Portland itself (SW Barbur Blvd, SW Front Ave/Naito Pkwy, Steel Br, N Interstate Ave), but it's ambiguous status keeps it from being added to CHM (ODOT can't make up its mind); and old Bus US 30 (NE Sandy Blvd). I don't have old OR 212 (SW Nyberg St, SW Borland Rd, Willamette Falls Dr), though.

For me, Washington D.C. (not many roads in CHM in either the District or its Virginia suburbs, but lots in the Maryland suburbs):

Honolulu (map conveniently leaves out the one route in Oahu I haven't driven):

Toronto:

Might be some others out there, even in places where CHM covers all the state/provincial routes.

I have a zillion of them in NY, since CHM has every tiny village there as a city/town level map.

Galena, IL (http://cmap.m-plex.com/maps/centermap.php?u=master_son&sys=all&c=usa&rg=IL&mv=137927)*
Dubuque, IA (http://cmap.m-plex.com/maps/centermap.php?u=master_son&sys=all&c=usa&rg=IA&mv=137161)*
Madison, WI (http://cmap.m-plex.com/maps/centermap.php?u=master_son&sys=all&c=usa&rg=WI&mv=151102)
Platteville, WI (http://cmap.m-plex.com/maps/centermap.php?u=master_son&sys=all&c=usa&rg=WI&mv=151196)*
Racine, WI (http://cmap.m-plex.com/maps/centermap.php?u=master_son&sys=all&c=usa&rg=WI&mv=151215)
Stevens Point, WI (http://cmap.m-plex.com/maps/centermap.php?u=master_son&sys=all&c=usa&rg=WI&mv=151274)
Wausau, WI (http://cmap.m-plex.com/maps/centermap.php?u=master_son&sys=all&c=usa&rg=WI&mv=151317)

*these 3 are so close that you could merge them... ;)

This is a sampling of what I have.  I left out many cities of less significance.

Close ones -
Milwaukee - just WIS 164, WIS 167 and WIS 175 remain
Kenosha - all of WIS highways done, need some ILL routes.

This is exactly why I originally thought I'd have quite a few in NY and in western MA, but the maps cover large enough areas and there are enough minor routes that there always seems to be something I'm missing (with the exception, now, of the Amsterdam map).  I'm very close on several others.

Granted, I do have a blanket clinch of a large area in northern NY.
