Title: Old OH Turnpike photos
Post by: Mr. Matté on February 01, 2013, 07:11:58 PM
On the heels of the NJ Turnpike historic photo thread, The Ohio Turnpike Flickr page has some photos from around its opening day:

(if they're not on this page, they were pushed onto higher-numbered pages by more recent uploads)

^^ The pictures bring back great memories. I was on the turnpike soon after it opened, and I thought it was a wonder. We had nothing like it around home (Muncie, IN) and I begged Dad to take the turnpike whenever we could.

I am curious to find out if anyone out there has any photos of the old "pointer" signs with the right edge angled to the right at the exits and service plazas.  I remember that Indiana had a slightly different design on the Toll Road.
