Last month, I went on a trip to Washington, D.C. This is the same outing where a deodorant lid fell in the toilet at a hotel.
I compiled one of my famous photologues - which contains 171 photos and videos from this trip. In addition to D.C., it also includes Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
So ahoy and enjoy...

Did you take any photos of the Sideling Hill cut? It looks rather impressive, especially seeing it on I-70 when you are still 10-15 miles from it. I think the one I-68 photo that was captioned as the east end of I-68 was just after the Sideling Hill stop.
Excellent photos of the D.C. area!

I think I have some Sideling Hill stuff from my Delmarva trip in 2010.
I'll check it out.
Wild and Wonderful pictures! Have you ever tried the "Midland Trail," (US60) from Charleston to Sam Black Church? I used to do it late at night pulling a 53" trailer to avoid the tolls and keep me alert. Also, do you (or does anyone) know if I-64 east of I-81 still has the fog line lighting system? I have not driven this stretch in a while, it was always cool to see them in action when it was foggy.

I know I was on this once or twice, but it was in the daytime.

I didn't notice anything like this.
Nice pics of the progress of the work at the I-70/79 South Junction. PennDOT sure as hell isn't posting any.
Also
You also said you'd "love to know what the road is ascending the most distant ridge in the background. " in THIS Pic:

While I'm not 100% sure of the exact location you're referring to in this photo, I'm pretty sure everything visible in the distant ridges are cuts for power-line (or maybe gas line) right-of-way.

I-64 still has the system in place and it is rather impressive to see when the lights are on, especially at night.
Found this, after a quick search... I would expect someone else might have interest... Driving that stretch used to make me feel like an airline pilot, with the feel of runway lights.

These were originally installed in 1996 (per the article) after a few too many 60+ vehicle pileups in the few years prior. I remember one that involved around 100 vehicles in 1993 or 1994.
