I know. I know. I haven't taken any pics in a while. It's kind of tough when you've covered most everything local already, your only running vehicle is a mid-90's Explorer and you only have about $60/month you can burn on gas.
But through some trickery with a grocery loyalty card (namely the first 20 gallons costing only $18)... I have updates!
I-10 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/IH10): 33 new photos, eastbound and westbound, between Exit 228 and 223B
Causeway Boulevard (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/CausewayBoulevard): 7 new photos, slightly expanded southbound coverage including shots of the new offramp to I-10
Louis Armstrong International (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/MSY): New album, 15 shots taken while on the airport's access road. Not tagged or captioned yet!

how did you do that.
:wow:
more importantly, how much crap do you have to buy at the grocery store before they give you another 20 gallons at an insane rate?

A lot. Me and the lifepartner went through about $270 in food stamps to get $2.45 off per gallon. As a result, we paid only 90 cents per gallon of gas for that one fillup!

2.45 per gallon, times 20 gallons, is $49. out of $270, that is an 18% cash back plan! I'm happy that my credit card gives 2%.
again, how often does this reset? this seems like an incredible deal, even with the 20 gallon cap.

It's good for only one fillup, then you need to buy more stuff. You also lose the discount if you don't use it by the end of the month after you get the discounts.
Typically I can get through the month on a single tank of gas because I don't do much running. This month was different. Mardi Gras happened, especially with a friend flying in from KC.

so
every time I buy $270 in groceries, I get a $49 gas rebate? hot diggety.

No. This month, we homed in on specials that gave extra discounts. A
lot of them. Typically, I get $.10 off per gallon per $50 spent. There's additional things that give extras on top of that.
Plus, I had an extra coupon from them for an extra $.50 off a gallon for buying $100 worth of stuff in one trip.

54 cents per gallon for a $270 purchase still ain't bad. but that's getting more towards the margin of where it's not worth the time for me to plan an empty tank for the same time as a two- or three-week grocery run.
especially since my tank is only 15 gallons.
We recently started doing monthly shopping at Sam's Club, and only buying a few things each week in between. One dismaying thing about the change in plans is that we no longer get 30 or 40 cents a gallon off at the Dillon's pump the way we occasionally used to. But the money we save on groceries definitely makes up for it.
Interesting how this thread is no longer about Picasa....
Interesting, yes. Jake seems to be a master at the art of the threadjack. :P
At Stop & Shop supermarkets here in Connecticut, you get a 10 cent per gallon discount with every 100 points (or $100 spent). Occasionally, there will be a coupon similar to what you mentioned. Which reminds me, I have to check the Courant Extra circular that was sitting in the driveway this morning, orange plastic-wrapped and all! :)
Thanks for the pictures! It reminds me of the few I took leaving from RDU near Raleigh in 2010. This one was zoomed a bit, since I was a passenger in an airport shuttle van here:

First you get the gas, then you get the photos, then you get the thread. Makes sense to me.
You might have gotten my rental car in some of those shots, as I was on I-10 a bunch over ten days, fortnight ago.
Now I'm looking into the gas deal, as I wondered how it really worked.
I just updated one two of my albums.
I-55 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/IH55): 96 new photos northbound, between I-20 in Jackson, MS and I-240 in Memphis, TN, along the cosigned portion in West Memphis, AR with I-40, and between I-40 and Future I-555.
US 61 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/US61): 12 new photos northbound from a section in AR cosigned with I-55, up to Future I-555.
Edit: Also added two three new albums:
I-240 (Tennessee) (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/IH240TN): Nine pictures of I-240 West (or North) between I-55 and I-40
I-69 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/IH69): 27 photos covering just the sections of I-55 and I-240 either already signed as or slated to become parts of I-69's Mississippi/Tennessee segments.
I-40 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/IH40): 17 photos of westbound between I-240 in Memphis, TN and the western split with I-55 in West Memphis, AR.
Watch this thread, I have more updates to come as I get the pictures cleaned up and sorted.
Didn't want to triple post, so...
(Old post follows)
It's been a while. What can I say, I've got too much on my plate lately.
I haven't finished going through my pics from the Big Move yet, but I do have some I took recently, mostly the Kansas parts of I-435, and some of I-70 East.
Enjoy two new albums.
I-70 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/IH70): Eight pics of the free section of I-70's portion of the Kansas Turnpike, from Bonner Springs to I-435, plus 25 pictures from I-435 in Missouri east to Oak Grove, MO.
I-435 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/IH435): 41 pictures of the outer part of the I-435 belt, all on the Kansas side.
(New post follows)
I found some pictures I thought lost from a trip in May to KCI, and snapped a few more pics this morning along I-435 on the way to the grocery store. Enjoy.
New:
US 71 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/US71): 85 pictures from I-49 exit 182 in KC, north to the exit from I-29 for KCI.
Updated:
I-435 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/IH435): Added 22 pictures of the Missouri side of I-435, from Wornall Road to Truman Road.
(Another edit)
Started working on more pics from the Big Trip. (Edit again: DONE WITH THOSE)
(New) Future I-555 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/FutureIH555AR): 49 photos of the planned route for Interstate 555, connecting I-55 with Jonesboro, AR. These photos will also be placed in the current US 63 album in the near future as well.
(Updated) US 63 (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/US63): 154 photos added, from the junction with I-55 all the way to Willow Springs, MO, and the concurrency with US 60 near there. This includes the full contents of the Future I-555 album.
(New) I-470 (Missouri) (https://picasaweb.google.com/112770093046871163786/IH470MO): 43 photos of I-470 in both directions, with a complete photographic clinch eastbound/northbound.
