I collect lighthouses.
You??
Photos of roadsigns.
Glass insulators (http://www.insulators.info/pictures/?op=original&id=131817483) off railroad poles.
License plates
Anything Coca-Cola.
I used to collect newspapers. I had one from every major city on the east coast at one point.
Coins
Cars
Books
Maps
The Sims games
SimCity games
Licence plates
DC Shoes accessories
Diary of a Wimpy Kid series
and so on...
Baseball cards. Tons of 'em.
Well, that's by far my biggest "collection", anyway. I used to collect maps, but then Google Maps came along and I stopped. There was a period of time where I tried to get a collection of (mostly beer) bottle caps going, but then I went through an "alcohol is evil" phase and almost threw them all away. Though I didn't in the end and I still have a jar full of them. I also got really interested in coin collecting for a bit, although now all I'm still doing on that front is looking to get all 5056 state quarters.
On the digital front, the number of songs and images on my hard drive is pretty large, and ever growing.
My quirkiest collection? Dead batteries. Whenever I buy batteries for something, I always look and see if there's a brand I've never used before, so that once they're spent I can add them to my collection.

Be well,
Bryant
I also collect money, if you got any, don't hesitate to send it to me! Only bills above $ 100 are interesting for me.
I mainly collect official state highway maps. Not a big fan of the oil/gas company maps, though I'll grab older ones if they have a feature or something that is of note.

I'm a collector of that as well. :-D

Interstates and counties ;-)
actually, I don't collect very much physical items.
For the people who collect road signs: There's a bunch of misplaced I-99 signs in Pennsylvania! :)
Road signs and licence plates seem to be the most popular here. I'm not surprised really as this is a roads forum.....
Quotematchbox cars
I have a few hundred of those sitting in a box in the attic. Loved 'em as a kid.
Another childhood toy that there's copious quantities of in my attic: Lego.
I collect autographs . . .mainly baseball autographs, but I have some interesting ones mixed in.
I got Sarah Palin before she was famous (and I didn't ask for one from her because I thought her politics were attractive ;-) )
Judge Judy, Donald Trump, and others...
I collect coins and coffee mugs. My wife has a stuffed bear collection.
Coins, currency, counties, highways, and game tapes of football games.
Sykotyk
I used to collect the state quarters but I'm trying to start collecting maps
i forgot i collect maps too!!! :pan: :-D
Oh yeah, I now also collect maps
Coins are the most serious collection I have, especially American. I collected model cars for years but they are in "well-loved" condition for the most part.
Only two things I collect and only one seriously.
I have a good collection of Road Maps and Atlases plus tourist info but I don't go out of my way to get more.
The only thing I'm serious about is video games. I have nearly one of everything from the Atari 2600 to the XBox 360 and between 1,000 and 2,000 games.
i collect taxes :-D
I loved the old Atari 2600. I loved bomberman. Also had a racing game that used the same wheel control used for bomberman.
Sykotyk
I collect road maps and hotel/motel directories. Wife is not eagerly awaiting the day people realize the 1980s directories could be worth something on eBay.
I am. My bank account might not be, though.

yes, post a photo of your own face clearly visible!
I tend not to care about the reappropriation of surplus equipment (read, cutout highway sign on abandoned alignment) but to take, and post, a photo of you doing so??? :banghead:
I've collected so many things in 41 years I've lost track. I've whittled it all down to one collection: old cameras. I used to collect anything and everything, but started over a couple years ago focusing on vintage 35 mm (especially rangefinders) and folding cameras. The (small but growing) collection is shown at http://jimgrey.wordpress.com/about/cameras/. (http://jimgrey.wordpress.com/about/cameras/.)
Peace,
jim

Same here, although I don't take them off the poles. I buy them from other collectors.

Who may have taken them off poles, themselves. :-D :sombrero:
I know this is a rather old thread, but...
When I was young, I, too, was interested in models of actual lighthouses. Something about them had always caught my attention. Although I lost the interest over the years. Anyway, I believe I collected at least two. I'm not sure if I may still have them. I'd have to take a trip down memory lane (look in the boxes in my attic) to see. I also used to collect model cars.
What I collect as of present day is vintage New York City signs and signal equipment. I've been interested in them for as long as I could remember, since I grew up around them. I wanted to begin to collect them years ago, but I just didn't have the chance. The opportunity came, though, around three to four years ago. Since then, I have been hooked. :-)
Preludes :-D

(Actually the red one is my dad's; he bought it yesterday but doesn't have room in his driveway thanks to two black Preludes of his own. I've created a monster.)
Shot Glasses - Purchased.
Beer Glasses. At least the beer in them was purchased and drank first. :-)
Duah! I think my name says it all :bigass:
Dice. Lots of types of dice. Different numbers of sides, different colors, and other things about the dice. I also have a backgammon die, a casino die, and a LEGO die.
I collect coins and bills. Euro ones (bills are called notes), as it is the easiest for me.
But I'm thinking of starting a really strange collection.
I collected baseball cards growing up, but now they sit in a box, waiting for me to do something with them. More recent collections include pint glasses and travel books.

Let's just say I have too much stuff!
License plates.
Highway signs.
Vintage computers.
Coins and notes.
I want to collect traffic signals and railroad signals and signs, but I'll have to wait until I move out of here.
Along with dice (which I mentioned before), I also collect coins. I have a 2 cent coin, a 3 cent coin, and a 20 cent coin, all from the United States. I also have coins from lots of different countries.
Foreign currencies (Euros, Canadian dimes, etc.)
Hot Wheels model cars + 4 mid to large size cars between 1:24 and 1:18 scale
I am a serious Hot Wheels collector. Mostly for real world ones, but if there are fantasy ones that closely resemble those we see on the road, I'll collect those as well. The bulk of my collection contains Chevy muscle cars, including a couple of C6R racing cars. Only thing I don't have for the racing Vettes is the C5R series and they're hard to find unless you get lucky on EBay or Amazon. I do have the GS series ('63 and '12).
knight Rider KITT is also in my collection (though not with the correct wheels) and the '94 Supra from the Fast and Furious series, and the Toyota AE86 Corolla (probably came from Initial D).
I have a collection of shot glasses from places I've been. Started it when I was a kid, actually.
I hold on to ticket stubs and programs from plays and concerts I go to, no matter the significance or lack thereof of the event (and they run the gauntlet from Broadway and Bonnaroo to high school plays and local indie bands)
*exhuning old thread and reviving it* I collect a few things other than signs....
Old maps if i find them interesting (especially if i find a good one from the 50s up to the 70s showing 'future Interstates'....)
Old board games
Anime DVDs
Japanese trains, esp painted trains and Shinkansens!
Hallmark Lionel train ornaments
Sports mugs and tankards featuring my favorite teams..
i think i need a bigger apartment! @_@
Old airline timetables
Old bus and train timetables from the UK--especially if it's related to London(tubes, red buses, green buses, and green coaches).
Old computers (started the colelction over, i collect mostly mac stuff) SNES Games, Dreamcast Games, cameras (i got a fisher price PXL2000 i need to test out)
