Found this on the old maps. Does anybody know when it was built and when it was removed? Are there any pics of it availible online?
Interesting that a direct connection between two towns was removed. I'm guessing this was allowed to happen because SR 19 was built crossing between the two lakes nearby.
Also, I noticed that Howey-In-The-Hills was just called "Howey" on old maps. My best guess on this is that it had to be renamed due to another town having the same name.

Scroll down a little and there are some photos.
Also, FDOT's Straight-Line Diagrams still list a silent SR 48, along SR 19, from the current CR 48 to Central Avenue.
