South Carolina has renumbered SC 170 ALT as SC 315.

2008 GMSV at the north end of SC 315 still showed SC 170 ALT as does the Jan 2011 Official Map

It was still SC 170 ALT on March 15, 2010. Some of the shields were replaced with the new design no less.

The statement in that article that SC 170 ALT was mainline SC 170 until 1994 is absolutely incorrect.  SC 170 never used that road; however, the northernmost couple miles were SC 461 in the 1940s.
