Title: US70 Durant Bypass

from ODOT Press release:

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission will hold its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St. in Oklahoma City. Items to be addressed at the meeting:

They are also expected to consider awarding a more than $24 million contract to construct the east portion of the Durant Bypass on US-70. The contract includes financial incentives for early completion of this project.

The western end is a T intersection with US 70.  Why couldn't they have built a flyover for WB traffic and a ramp for EB traffic?

I guess Durant will have 3 business routes when this is done: 69, 75, and 70?

I don't recall that there is a marked BUS75 through Durant.  I thought it was just BUS69.

You may be right in that. I think it was posted at one time, but not anymore. I thought there were still a couple signs for Bus 75, but I've not to Durant for a number of years.

Knowing ODOT, they'll probably leave mainline US 70 on the current route and make the bypass either an unnumbered highway signed as Bypass US 70 or an unsigned highway.
