Reports of significant damage in the Ridgecrest area, which is about 150 miles north of Los Angeles. It was felt in the LA metro, Las Vegas, San Diego, Bakersfield and Fresno but no damage in any of those places.

How far the Ridgequest area is from the San Andreas Fault?

Ridgecrest is more than 100 miles away, and the quake epicenters seem to be even more distant. But the San Andreas isn't California's only major fault.
