For those of us here who have or are currently storm chasers, what sort of music do you listen to on your way to the target area? My music consisted of a lot of 80's rock with staples such as:
and

"Humans Being" by Van Halen. Can't think of a more appropriate tune than one that was on the "Twister" soundtrack.
-
Thunder Rolls by Garth Brooks?
-
Ride the Lightning by Metallica.
(And yes it's about the electric chair, but it could be about kittens and still be effective for storm chasing)
-
How about Ridin’ the Storm Out by REO Speedwagon?

You mean weather people don't listen to smooth jazz 24/7?

Haha, I remember being a kid and hearing nothing but that on the Weather Channel. Those were the days...

"Distant Thunder" by Checkfield (title track of the album) might be an appropriate, though mellower, tune.

How about Thunderstruck by AC/DC?
-
“Rock you like a Hurricane” by the Scorpions?

These 2 would say "Oklahoma!" by Rogers and Hammerstein

In a more classical realm, how about Ride of the Valkyries from Apocalypse Now?

Off topic, but the guitar opening of Run To You sounds a lot like the one at the beginning of that 867-5309 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WTdTwcmxyo&ab_channel=TommyTutoneVEVO/) song.

KOMA in Oklahoma City traditionally plays the Pride of Oklahoma's rendition of "Oklahoma!" right before their 5 PM station ident. (It's the official state song, if you're wondering why.) Given that 5 PM is a prime time for mesocyclone development, it's plausible that at least one storm chaser has had it on the radio while chasing.

I don't chase, but "Ride Like the Wind' comes to mind or "Ride of the Valkyries."

I've liked watching Pecos Hank's chasing videos and listening to his music. Any of the Southern Backtones songs would fit on my playlist. On a related note I'll be taking spotter training this year.

anything by kmfdm / mdfmk or front 242.
