49 is one of my favorites given the large assortment of mining towns, monuments and some really fun sections of roadway.  My wife works in Oakhurst so luckily I get frequent the Highway often.  So far this is what I got on my CA 49 web series:

Got this guy sitting in my hung up in my garage:

I was in this part of California not too long ago myself. I took this road from I-80/Auburn to CA-120 to get to Yosemite. I stopped along the way at Coloma and Columbia (that old western town). The highway between Auburn and Placerville is probably the most crooked part of the route, but not as much so as Route 120 up to Yosemite. :sombrero:

Red's Giant Hamburg, America's first (maybe the world's first) drive-through restaurant has been rebuilt and is serving very greasy but good burgers, fries, & Root Beer.

Gets way more crooked in the Merced River Canyon south of Coulterville.

Yeah, it is very crooked, without guardrails.
