My breakdown:

Toll freeway: 85mph (southern part of TX 130 toll road)
Interstate or other freeway: 80mph (multiple freeways in Mountain/Great Plains states)
Divided non-freeway: 75mph (multiple US and state highways in west and south Texas)
2-lane: 75mph (at least one US highway in east Texas)

As you might guess, Texas is my favorite state for driving.

My breakdown -

Freeway / Interstate - 85 MPH, TX-130
Four-Lane At-Grade with Intersections - 75 MPH, U.S. 77, U.S. 59, U.S. 281, TX-35, TX-290, etc.
2-Lane Roadway - 75 MPH, U.S. 59, TX-35, FM 2678, US-83, etc.

The beauty is how wide open Texas is, there's not an interstate everywhere. But you get some pretty damn high speeds (mostly 70, a lot also 75) almost anywhere in Texas to get where you're going, two lane, four-lane, freeway, etc.

Interstate/freeway: 80 mph, various rural Interstates
Non-interstate freeway: 70 mph, US 20 in Idaho
Divided highway: 75 mph, US 84 in Texas
2-lane highway: 70 mph, various highways in Texas

Texas don't discriminate. :D

75 mph is the highest I have encountered driving, but only on freeways.  70 on both non freeways 2 and 4 lane roads, and both in the Lone Star State.

I have been on I-90 across South Dakota, which has a speed limit of 80 mph.

Funny, all the mentions of TX-130 and its 85 mph limit, but I thought I-10 and I-20 also had an 85 mph limit in western Texas.

I-10 and 20 are 80 mph in western Texas. Oddly enough Michigan's max speed is now 75 mph and the closest state with a speed limit that high or higher is Arkansas. South Dakota is 80 mph but North Dakota is 75 mph seems like it'd be the same to me.

West Virginia is currently going through legislation to increase their's to 75 MPH. North Carolina tried for 75 MPH about five years ago though didn't pass fully, though could happen again the future.

I've been on sections of the German Autobahn that have no speed limit at all.

When I drove the Autobahn in the '60s, there was only one section (near Stuttgart) where I even SAW a speed limit. About 100 klicks as I recall due to the hilly terrain and narrow lanes.

80 on the Interstate almost all the way across the state, but I've been on no-limit autobahns too (not the driver, I was too young at the time). My dad said his average speed on a no-limit autobahn was 100 mph. For everyone saying 100 kph is the highest they've ever seen, it's not. 100 kph translates to about 62 mph.

100 is the highest number many people have seen on a speed limit sign.
