Quote from: paulthemapguy on May 27, 2026, 09:27:17 AMAn update on the potential rule change for Seasons 11-12: I am leaning toward changing the criteria to become specific to the exit number and the destination route that both appear on the big green guide sign posted along an expressway. This would go along with what a few of you have suggested. [...]

I know it's a few months away, but I wanted clarification on the Seasons 11 and 12.

So for x0/y5, I presume this example would work? The exit number (20) and exiting route (65) match in the ones field.

But for x0/y0, this would also do? The exit number (20) and thru route (10) match in the ones field. But since I-10 is the thru route - and not the exit's route number - is it a valid play? And if so, must the other shield be on the same assembly, same panel, or anywhere in the photo?

I'm glad you asked! Every exit has an origin route and a destination route. I have been debating which of these two route numbers to use in addition to the exit number. Most participants who have stated a preference have stated that they want the destination route to be the one in question. If other people have opinions, feel free to share them. But based on others' feedback, Seasons 11 and 12 will use the exit number and the number of the destination route. In formulanone's example, since I-10 is the origin route and I-65 is the destination route, I-65's number is the one subject to the criteria, in addition to the exit number of 20.

I like that, as I feel like there's usually less signs that show the origin route than signs that show the destination, especially in rural areas.

In the event of two or more shields on a sign, are all of them fair game if they are destination routes?

Yes! For example, the following photo would work for 3/7 and 9/7 days in the ones digit challenge (Season 11).

Callahan, FL has one of the most interesting junctions. This is US 301 (hidden FL 200) northbound approaching US 1/23 & FL A1A.

US 301 merges with US 1/23 north towards Folkston, GA, while hidden FL 200 continues northeast to form a concurrency with FL A1A south towards Fernandina Beach. This is the northern terminus of FL A1A, about 25 miles inland from the beach. Once past US 1/23/301, FL 200 again becomes unhidden.
