Crews have taken down the second of three sections of the Milton-Madison Bridge. The portion of the southeast Indiana span closest to Kentucky was blasted Thursday morning. The Milton-Madison Bridge Project has released video of the controlled explosion.

The more than $100 million project is a joint effort of the Indiana Department of Transportation and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Officials expect to finish the new bridge this year.

The third and final 1920s-era span is expected to be removed next week.
