New York City's Department of Traffic first introduced the "YIELD" sign in the 1950s. An additional message below "YIELD" read "RIGHT OF WAY."

The sign had approximately six sides, and the color was red. Though blue was another available color for this kind. Alas, like some other signs of the time in New York City, this one was short-lived. It would be replaced by the triangular "YIELD" sign that most of us are familiar with today.

Frankly, there are not many photographs that linger on the internet, which show this particular sign in service; however, fortunately enough, I recently came across this one (as shown below). In color, too.

Thanks for sharing. interesting that they made theirs red/white way in the time period that everybody else had yellow.

This kind was also blue (with white letters) as I first mentioned. An odd color for such a sign, but I have seen one photograph of that in service in New York City.

In spite of this, there were some yellow "YIELD" signs located on exit ramps of some highways in New York City; however, they were installed by the state.

It looks good...I don't know about $325 worth of good tho.  But I really don't know much about what signs go for on the e-bay market.

a little over=priced to me....i would be interested, but that price tag would have to take quite a tumble to get my wallet out....
