The numbers on the Ferguson Rock Slide are fairly staggering (per the article and video):

• 226,000,000 pounds of rock covered about 750 feet of the highway in 2006


• 70,000 cubic yards of rock to remove


• 885 feet from top of slide to the Merced River

This project will result in the removal of the temporary, one-lane bridge that serves as the temporary route of SR 140 and also result in the installation of a rock shed to protect the highway.
