Traffic Signal turns 100 today!

And yet, they missed the inventor of the modern three-lamp (red/yellow/green) and automatic traffic signal, Detroit policeman William Potts.  He invented the modern signal in 1920 and the controller in 1921.  The first one was at Michigan and Woodward, also known as Campus Martius.
