Here are the first pictures on the intertubes of the newest Oklahoma state highways: SH 351 and SH 364. OK 351 is the Muskogee Turnpike and OK 364 is the Creek Turnpike.

Those are some seriously fugly signs.

It's so sad when (what appears to be) brand new signs are so poorly designed.

That first one is interesting. The cantilever sign structure seems to be very similar to what Nevada might use, yet Nevada would never have a sign twice as tall as the sign structure. This sign also could have been about half the height and still retained the same legend, had it been properly designed.

The ground-level one is the only one that follows standard. The others are using C instead of B, and a stretched-out state outline that looks ridiculous.

Those signs aren't new. The only things that are new are the 351/364 meat cleavers.

Yeah, the second one was the topic of the Redesign This thread for a while, wasn't it?  Should we do the other two signs now?  (The ones in the second post aren't perfect, but certainly passable.)

It was but it didn't carry an OK-365 shield.  The photo of the original sign was deleted but here's a redesign I did which was posted in the Worst of Road Signs thread...

If I owned a dam and decided to donate it to charity, would I be giving a dam? I'm sure that might be a first because no one really gives a dam.

Because Oklahoma.

Because Oklahoma signage sucks and needs a serious digital backhand to the choppers!
Finally upgraded to Expressway after, what, seven or so years on this forum? Took a dadgum while, but, I made it!
