Who in here has a tatoo

By the way, my tattoos are what you would call "hidden" (both of them are on my upper arms near my shoulders) and you can't see them even with a short sleeved shirt. A potential job interviewer wouldn't be able to see them. I got them because I wanted them, not for the benefit of anybody else. I will show them off at certain times (say I meet an Arkansas Razorbacks fan, I'll show them my Razorback tattoo) but I don't want a sleeve for various reasons and I only want my tattoos to be visible when I want them to be. I've thought about getting more tattoos, but I don't really have any other places I want to put them. I've thought about an Arkansas I-49 shield and a Ford Thunderbird "390" logo among others but I have a lot of body hair which limits the places I can put them.

I don't really understand putting tattoos on your back where you can't see them without a mirror (and even then it's hard). If tattoos are supposed to have meaning to you, how can they have meaning when you yourself can't look at them and be reminded of why you got it?

A lot of people have "another side" they they'd prefer to only have their partner see. This explains hidden tattoos. They aren't for the tattoo'd to view, but for their significant other.

What you're describing is commonly called a "tramp stamp."

No. A woman with a tattoo on her lower back is generally going to be wearing clothing to show it off. Hardly reserved for one's SO. Usually the ultra-secret tattoo is a butt tattoo though it could also be a tattoo on the torso or thigh if the person who has it never goes out in public wearing anything that reveals those spots. But a tramp stamp is by definition flaunted, not hidden, so in any case it's two different things.
If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

So I'm the only person on this entire forum who has a tattoo? That's surprising.

Not everyone reads every thread, much less responds to every thread.

Especially Off-Topic. I generally don't read several of the regional forums, or the Road-Related Illustrations board.

Some people that have them, but are otherwise reserved in nature, don't like to show them off or talk about them.  Before she moved to another department, one middle-aged co-worker in my office was wearing something that revealed a tat on her upper back and I commented about it.  She was embarrassed that it even came into view.  And yet, she got it to remember someone in regards to an illness they had.  Definitely nothing wrong about it.  She eventually grew to be less embarrassed about it, and it just became part of her when we saw her.

I'm sure there's others that frequent this board that do have them, so something like that could be the case...

Personally, while I don't really care for someone who's heavily tattooed because I don't think that works well in a professional office setting, and will probably hurt them in terms of getting some jobs if they desired those jobs, a few tats here and there (including visible ones that are otherwise discreet in nature) are fine.

Same here. I only read the western ones if the list of recent topics on the main page has a subject line that catches my eye. Otherwise I generally don't have anything to say about that part of the country because I have not travelled through much of it.
