Has anyone played this game yet?  Any recommendations?  I love that it uses real-world maps.  I wish it could make conceptual renderings of your transit lines meshed with real-world imagery, but I realize that's so extremely difficult to do that it wouldn't be feasible for a game that's sold for only $17.

Since this is out, when are they gonna come out with our fantasy highway game?  :hmmm:

I actually just bought this game over the weekend. I love it so far. Took some getting used to what to do.

Played about 20 hours early on. Then they did a big update and I gave up after about two hours as it became a lot more complex to do basic stuff (and IIRC, my old saves weren't compatible, so I lost my previous work building a network). City Bus Manager is similar, but for buses. However you spend (especially in early game) most of your time managing the depot rather than drawing bus routes and seeing how good they'd be. There needs to be a game using the data (a bit like the Brand New Subway browser game, though that is perhaps a little too basic) these games do, but don't insist on the micromanagement of fleet, staff, route itself.

That's certainly a game I'd want to play, just to get I-494 in Chicago finally built! But until then, there's always marking up Google Maps and old Rand McNallys to fall back on.

I've been playing it quite a bit for the last few weekends, and have built out a Canadian high-speed rail network, that include some kernals-esque lines connecting Canada to the UK and Norway.

I found the getting the crayons out aspect of it easier when I realized you can just ignore train wrecks (daily train crashes in Montreal? Meh.) and set money to be unlimited so you don't have to care if your company makes a profit or not.

Doesn't fix my problems with the overly-complex construction.

Plus (other than having to wait early game) I had no problem with the funds as I scribbled.
