Places where a sign isn't but should be

Basically locations that should have a sign (of any type), but for some reason or other, doesn't have it.

I'll start with this:

Considering this exit is off a fairly fast roadway with an overpass and BGSes behind it, you would think a generic EXIT sign would be installed here. I guess not. I guess because it's one of the few overpasses in the city, the city decided to not sign any of them.

I know here in Louisiana, if a BGS or gore sign has been knocked off its ground mounts, they will put up culvert signs of the striped kind or the smaller yellow rectangle. This warns the bush hog operators where not to run the mowers.  Is that a ground mount near those culvert signs in the picture?
Runnin' roads and polishin' rails.

I don't think so because this location (to my knowledge and past Streetview) has never had a generic gore sign.

it's really frustrating when state or us highways change streets and no sign is there to let you know it did, it makes following them infuriating.

PHLBOS

Once upon a time, at the intersection of Humphery St. and Atlantic Ave. in Swampscott, MA; there was a small old 60s/70s era MA 129 trailblazer sign that pointed eastbound 129 traffic to Atlantic Ave.  The trailblazer survived into the 90s but was never replaced when the sign disappeared (not sure if the signs were stolen or got knocked over in an accident).

As a result, one coming from Lynn & Kings Beach may not know that MA 129 leaves Humphery St. and follows Atlantic Ave. at this intersection.  One consolation is that both roads head towards Marblehead and downtown.

If you want a laundry list of places where a sign should be but isn't, try to follow any of the following roads through Providence,  East Providence and/or Pawtucket, RI:
US 1
US 6
US 44
RI 114

Similar can be said for MA 129 through downtown Lynn, MA (where it rerouted circa 1996).  The signage is inconsistent at best; non-existent at worst.  Such was even the case when the routing was brand new.

any state route or us highway going through a downtown can be hard to follow, signage tends to become spotty or completely nonexistent.

I've found bicycling in RI cities that I don't even depend on route numbers anymore and break down my route by road names. It's such an easy thing to get right but for them they somehow don't.

Yes.  Try following MA 68 or 101 through downtown Gardner.  There are either NO or TINY SUBSTANDARD signs directing or not directing you through.
