You think a major disaster such as a quake or a crash could cause the traffic light in San Francisco to fall down. Apparently dog urine and rust is to blame here.

I feel bad for the dog that was trying to pee on it...and suddenly the light pole fell!

Charles Sheehan with the Public Utilities commission says the city of San Francisco launched an assessment program a few months ago, visually inspecting light posts every day for the next year. "If it needs to be replaced, we will replace it,"  he said.

Apparently that visual inspection program ain't working too well.

Twist: the dog had eaten the car owner's son's homework. "Nobody believes me either", the son said.

The pole was rusted through because of all the dogs peeing on it. 

Sounds like the city could stand to mix in a can of paint, or at least a roll of duct tape!
