I don't go to Starbucks that often, I don't know what their terminology is, and I don't really care–it seems to me if I ask for "whatever the largest size black iced coffee is," it's pretty clear what I want.

One day I just decided this wasn't going to be a problem anymore, and just stopped thinking about saying anything but "small," "medium," or "large" (or "whatever the largest size black iced coffee is") and it really hasn't been a problem.  If they say "venti?" or whatever to me, I just repeat "medium."  I'm not going to commit new cute terms for common sizes to memory any more than I'm going to do so for "cup" or "straw."

A local shop here has yet more terms like "midi" and "sumo."  I also use English there.  In all cases it all works out easily.
