BGS Challenge: Control Cities in Championship Games

Here is an interesting idea:

Your challenge is to find highway signs which have 2 cities which both appeared in a single sports championship game.  For example, here is the most recent World Series match-up (2016) on the same sign:

http://<iframe src="https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m0!3m2!1sen!2sus!4v1481076102619!6m8!1m7!1sK5kPP1i02q2r-OH3ZrRo7A!2m2!1d41.52666586506678!2d-83.46336991384477!3f179.37856869896677!4f4.720855433134886!5f0.7820865974627469" width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" style="border:0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This one's a stretch... https://www.google.com/maps/@41.6072575,-87.6815772,3a,22.2y,184.36h,94.91t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sXDbPqY6g7KpRaalJg6ESPA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Iowa and Indiana apparently played each other for the Big Ten basketball championship back in 2001. (Thank you, Wikipedia!)
Davenport, IA -> Valparaiso, IN -> Ames, IA -> Orlando, FL -> Gainesville, FL -> Evansville, IN

1985 World Series, which I thought would be an easy one, but almost all of my pictures that feature both KC and StL have them on separate panels and my assumption is that they need to be on the same panel.  Picture from I-29 South on July 29, 2016.

Photos I post are my own unless otherwise noted.

Counting "New York City" as being equivalent to "New York," this sign on I-95 down near Occoquan could refer to Super Bowl III (Colts v. Jets, and the Jets did play in NYC then) and Super Bowl XXXV (Ravens v. Giants, never mind that the Giants played in Jersey by then). Also the 1958 and 1959 NFL Championship Games (Colts v. Giants, the former the only time the NFL championship has ever required overtime) and the 1969 World Series (Mets v. Orioles).

There are other signs with both Baltimore and New York without the word "City." I chose this because it's the furthest south.

I suppose since the OP doesn't specify "league championship," one could note this also includes the 1986 NFC Championship (Redskins v. Giants) and the 1971 NBA Eastern Conference Finals (Baltimore Bullets v. New York Knicks).

The Super Bowl where the Ravens beat the Giants is captured here as well.  In one way you can say that both teams stadiums are on I-95, even though one indirectly as Baltimore's is at the terminus of one of its children.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

I can get close if you want to consider the entire *gantry*, but with so many cities and control points in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region, it's tough finding Philly combined with any other city they've played in championship games/series.

Here's one for the '83 Phillies-Orioles World Series on 295 South approaching 95/495 in DE: https://goo.gl/maps/ZMGHGqRjyR52

And one of a series of signs on 95 North in Delaware, which can reference the '09 Phils/Yankees World Series (among many other older games between the two cities): https://goo.gl/maps/aSBCnGf2PVQ2

Finding San Francisco and Oakland (1989 MLB) together on a BGS was tougher than I thought. I haven't found one.

If you accept cities on the same gantry, Check out the US 101/I-580 split:

If you look at the backside of the gantry in GSV, one also could make the argument will see this BGS is actually one large single panel with multiple routes on it.

It occurs to me that any sign listing St. Louis, Chicago, or New York qualifies due to various World Series played entirely in one city or even one ballpark.

Not on the same sign, but St. Louis and Tennesse played in Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000 (signs could be different now that the Downtown Spaghetti interchange project is complete).

It qualifies either way thanks to the 1986 World Series.
