The Scottish band Bay City Rollers got their name by randomly throwing a dart at a map of the United States. It landed near Bay City, Michigan.

Wow, I always thought they were named after the San Francisco Bay Area. And I didn't know they were Scottish either.

There's a rapper named Memphis Bleek, and bands Carolina Liar, Little Texas, Alabama Shakes and L.A Guns.
