There used to be one in the ghost town of Rice, California on CA 62.  I want to say the shoe tree caught fire about 5-7 years back and actually burned down some of the remaining structures.  If I renumber correctly, passerby's just began to substitute the tree for a shoe fence.

There's one in NE Seattle at 19th Ave. NE and NE 47th St. (Frat Row).  Full of shoes.  A couple of months ago after the first big windstorm of the season one of the big branches fell off full of shoes.
