OK: I-35 at exit 106?

Anyone have any clue what's happening at the I-35 exit 106 (SH-9 W junction)? "Road Work Ahead" signs have gone up, and many of the guide signs have been switched out for temporary versions (i.e. the Lloyd Noble Center/Natural History Museum sign right by the overpass has been replaced by a tiny orange sign with the same copy). All of the shields at the junction have also been swapped for temporary versions (the I-35's aren't cut out and the SH-9s have the "9" all the way at the right side of the sign!) What gives?
