Great more tolled express lanes that will cost a fortune to use, just what everyone wants.  Personally I'd rather have CA 39 opened again to get a second option to get out of the high desert and bypass some Inland Empire cities.  For the record I've never been a big fan of state funds being used to build tolled facilities on roadways that have been traditionally free.  If this was being spun off for private construction I probably would feel differently.  Aside from all that I would like to know if there has been more of a recent update since this article is dated from 2015.

From what I've heard, ground has been broken on the I-15 lanes from Cajalco Road to CA-60. I'm sure the rest will start construction soon, or is in the planning phases.

Quite a bit of work has taken place. In addition to this, there was already some preparatory work on the stretch north of CA 60 up to CA 210-ish with abnormally wide shoulders which are clearly intended as future lanes. The bridges need to be built out, though, but the obvious intent is to get it further north than that.

Does anybody have any more pictures of this project?  This is a project that piques my interest.

Update on the Riverside County I-15 HOT lanes

QuoteConstruction of express lanes are planned on the 15 Freeway in Eastvale. Once completed, the Riverside County Transportation Commission proposes to extend those lanes 14.5 miles south, from Cajalco Road in Corona to Highway 74 in Lake Elsinore. Three public meetings are planned on the project.

I don't mind these projects but I do wish they would at least add a fourth GP lane in each direction and preferably two with ROW for two more.

In this state? We're lucky they still let us drive.

I'd like to see continuous HOT Lanes along this corridor from Interstate 5 in San Diego all the way to the northern junction of Interstates 15 and 215. Of course that may be major overkill and cost a fortune to construct, among other factors. Then again, we are all entitled to our own highway fantasies.

While we are discussing wish lists, I'd really like to see non-tolled express lanes(same thing as HOT just no tolls), 3 in each direction, from the 210 to the I-40 split in Barstow and then a minimum of 3 lanes in each direction to Primm.

Well, new HOT lanes are on the books for the 215, 91, 60, and 10. The 60 has carpool lanes from Theodore Street all the way west to the 605 (there are no plans to extend them to either terminus at the 10.)
