State Road detours in a different state

Just a few hours ago, I was on I-275 near Cincinnati, just before crossing the state line to Indiana, and for some reason, I saw a detour sign for Indiana SR 1 in Ohio. I'm wondering if this has ever happened somewhere else.

I have seen MD-213 detoured more than once into Delaware. 

Usually when work is being done on the bridge that carries 213 over the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal (this is the only bridge over the canal in Maryland).

US 250 in West Virginia has been detoured via PA 18 and PA 21 in Pennsylvania before due to bridge replacements.

One of the permanently signed emergency detours for the West Virginia Turnpike dips into Virginia via US 219 and US 460. The part in Virginia isn't actually signed, though - there are signs right before the state line in WV saying where to turn to stay on the route.

Noticed that on my last foray into that area. But seriously, who's going to go that far out of the way to detour the turnpike? If I'm in Princeton and need to get to Beckley, and for some reason US 19 isn't available, I can think of a number of other, closer and faster ways than by using US 219 through Union and Lewisburg to get to I-64.

Those are still up?  They have been up since April 2019!  Must be doing some serious roadwork on IN 1 somewhere between Guilford and Dover.

Somewhere I thought I had at least one picture of it, and if I do, I will post it, but can't find it...a couple of years back, IN 101 was detoured via US 224, OH 49, and US 30 which was quite out of the way but followed INDOT policy of only using state highways for posted detours of state highways.  Surely locals found better ways to go around.  Seeing the "off" detour IN 101 signs (some with demountable, wooden-looking numerals; thus the photos I know I got) in Ohio was a change of pace but as the OP evidenced, it is not unheard of for Indiana to detour into Ohio and probably vice versa.

Except for detours is it possible for a state route to cross state lines if it follows in interstate highway? If so IN 1 should designate a Truck Route via I-74 across into Ohio and onto I-275 back to Indiana exiting onto US 50. There are already signs recommending trucks avoid IN 1, so maybe they could make an official Truck Route.

Agreed that there are several options.  But much of the traffic are heavy trucks, which are not appropriate on US-19 much less on WV-20 or WV-54. 

Also, weather is a primary factor on the Turnpike and there have been way too many times that I was the last car permitted between Princeton and Beckley during snow emergencies (not sure why they let me go through, for that matter).  There was one time shortly after the four-lane north of Athens Road opened in the early-1980s that I was plowing through a fresh layer of 24 inches with a 1975 Pontiac Catalina without snow studs and chains.  For the record, I would have taken US-19 or any number of back routes but the gentler posted detours would have made more sense for out of state folks.

There is currently a detour on VA 9 between VA 287 and the border with WV.  The official detour is VA 287 to VA 7 to US 340, but that would also bypass some of WV 9. 

I wasn't on the Charles Town portion of US 340 the other day but I'm assuming the reverse detour is signed which means the detour for WV 9 east of US 340 uses VA 7/VA 287.
