PA has a lot of good options, but I have to say Montgomery has a good mix of access to the Suburbs of Philadelphia, but also green space and smaller towns at the other end of the county.  Plus you have (some of) Valley Forge National Historical Park.  Chester County [NOT Chester City – in Delaware County] is probably almost interchangeable here.
