Northbound I-295 and I-64 just east of Richmond VA. Drops from 3 lanes to 2. They did that because it's to let westbound I-64 traffic to merge freely.

Eastbound I-540 at I-40 in Morrisville, NC. They are planning to make the right lane drop so most of the traffic coming from eastbound I-40 merges on freely. There's not really that much traffic coming from the main highway so I can see why that is needed.

I-540 at US-1 (Capital Blvd) in Raleigh, NC. They did that to let most of the US-1 traffic enter I-540 west freely, although it will go away soon

I think one could work at I-540 and I-87 (The Knightdale bypass) due to heavy traffic coming from eastbound I-540 to northbound I-87. the loop has roughly 17,000 AADT which makes it a REAL candidate to either have a flyover ramp, or narrow the I-87 northbound lanes from 3 to 2. But I want to see if NCDOT can rebuild this interchange like they are doing to I-40, US-70 (future I-42) and NC-540.
