ARDOT public involvement meeting to present proposal to extend the 4(5) lanes of US-65 north from Botkinburg to Dennard.  After this project is completed, US-65 will be 4(5) laned from Conway to Dennard.  There's 44.2 miles between Valley View and Dennard at that point (other than within Marshall) to upgrade to have a continuous 4 lane US-65 facility in Arkansas between Lake Village and the Missouri border.

Are there any plans for bypasses of communities like Harrison? I know traffic is fairly high on US 65 through north-central Arkansas.

Nothing yet.  If they ever 4 lane US-412 from Huntsville where the 4 lane currently ends to the 4 lane at Alpena, or 4 lane more of US-65, then a northeastern bypass of US-412/US-65 to the end of the concurrency at the Harp's SE of Harrison would make total sense in either case.  I can see Arkansas doing a 2 lane bypass first like they did in Hot Springs or around Prairie Grove until the traffic growth dictates 4 laning it if it ever happens before the 4 laning of either US highway from their current termini into the current 2 lanes.

I would have thought the traffic counts would justify it now, especially during tourist season.

Traffic counts justify a lot of projects in the northwestern half of the state, I-40 east of Little Rock, and some parts of US-82 along the southern border that likely won't come to fruition for 20+ years.

There's a very spiffy 4-lane-divided bypass of US 64 around Vilonia that may have a deserving traffic count, but there are others with higher priority. Makes me wonder who in Vilonia has pull with the state.
