They didn't.  They saw plates that had been stolen from a Dodge Charger mounted on a Mercedes AMG GT53.

Right, the headline is misleading because the officer used common sense to realize there was a mistake.

Depends on the market. OKC's Fox station is owned by Sinclair, so while the newscast content doesn't originate from Fox News, it may as well.
