Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced motel in the Corning/Elmira area of New York?


Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Stayed at the Econo-Lodge in Painted Post a few years ago. No complaints. Was with my parents, who picked up the tab... So I'm sure it was resaonably priced.

If you head up a little north of Corning / Elmira, the town of Watkins Glen has quite the assortment of non-chain hotel/motels of varying quality.  (We stayed at one of them during the same trip that was OK... but I don't remember which one it was, so that's of no help.)

In fact, I suppose I haven't provided any useful information at all.  DOH!

Actually the comment about the Econo Lodge at Painted Post was very helpful.
