Roundabout chevron removals

2023 MUTCD pages 120-121, figs. 2B-22 and 2B-23 don't show the right horizontal chevrons under the one-way right signs for each approach. Those used to be standard. I just noticed that when I saw WisDOT is removing the chevrons below the one way arrow. Not sure why those are no longer standard and why they felt the need to remove those as SOP is to allow such now-nonstandard signs to remain in place until the end of their useful life.

Any clues to this procedure?
