My reaction to the news was the same as his final line in Revenge of the Sith.

"Noooooooooo!!!!"

His voice helped make Treehouse of Horror an annual tradition.  Like it was so good and so popular that they had to do it again and 30-whatever years later, we're still rolling.
James Earl Jones actually gets credit as the first speaking lines for Maggie Simpson.  The second segment in the original Treehouse of Horror with the Amityville Horror parody; Maggie's head turns around backward and she says, "This is indeed a disturbing universe" and the voice is Jones.
Nice trivia answer for ya some day.

But it's all about his read during their adaptation of The Raven.  Like I'm pretty sure that segment wouldn't have worked with someone else's voice.

RIP, man.  The disturbance in The Force will eventually subside.
