According to a post on Facebook, flashing Yield signs are coming soon to I-44 at Business 71 near Joplin.

I've seen flashing STOP signs in Texas, but this appears to be something new.

Shouldn't a yield sign flash yellow instead of red, especially with yellow meaning yield per the new flashing yellow turn arrows?

BUT: Yield signs are no longer yellow. Beyond that, you'd have to ask MoDOT

Yellow lights imply going slow and the need for caution, but do not imply any need to stop.  The actual action to be taken at a Yield is to look at approaching traffic and stop if necessary.  Because a stop may be required, it's red and not yellow.
